David’s Battle with the Amalekites

30 When David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had come to fight in the Negev and Ziklag. They had destroyed Ziklag, and burned it with fire. ² They took the women and all who were in it, without killing anyone. They carried them out and went on their way. ³ David and his men came to the city and saw that it was burned. Their wives and sons and daughters had been taken away.
